How To Style Coated Jeans to Make Heads Turn

Now that September is only a week away, if you’re like me, you are starting to think about freshening up your wardrobe for the upcoming fall and winter season. As I was Googling 2020 fashion trends for the coming season, I saw that leather wardrobe pieces are making an appearance again. So it’s a perfect time to pull out those favorites from your closet or perhaps consider adding a piece or two to your wardrobe for the coming season. Coated jeans feel great, look as elegant as leather, and make quite a head-turning statement. Inspired by all of this leather-talk, I decided to write about how to style coated jeans to make heads turn.

Leather clothing is timeless and always looks fantastic when worn tastefully, even when not on the runway. While I love leather jackets for their durability, stylish look, and warmth, I find leather pants are generally not very comfortable. Coated denim, on the other hand, are as comfortable as wearing a pair of jeans. They closely resemble leather, are dressier than denim and usually cost less.

Edgy or Classic with Coated Jeans

Stylish, chic and comfortable, I highly recommend coated denim to build beautiful outfits for the colder months. Classic and elegant, but not dull or boring, they can be paired with a leather jacket for an edgy look. For a conservative vibe, consider wearing a classic ivory turtleneck and blazer with coated denim. I encourage you to consider any of the dark neutrals to build amazing outfits, such as charcoal grey, dark brown, and black.

Add Softness with a Scarf

Consider adding a scarf to your leather outfits to add a bit of softness and a pop of pattern. The leopard scarf pictured here brings this outfit together beautifully. While not too matchy-matchy, the black and muted tones add an excellent level of sophistication and interest. By knotting the ends, it becomes an easy-to-wear infinity-like scarf. Just wrap it around your neck a couple of times, move the knot to the back, and it looks smashing.

In my opinion, the juxtaposition of the scarf against the leather is one of the key style features of this outfit to consider when thinking about how to style coated jeans to make heads turn.

Pointed-Toe Leather Boots

Elongating and chic, pointed-toe leather boots are not only a terrific companion with a black leather moto jacket, but they also look amazing with any pair of black pants in your wardrobe. Whether worn with a pair of smart wool pants for the office, or your favorite pair of black jeans for going out on the town, pointed-toe leather boots will make you look taller and more slender. Worn with this pair of grey coated jeans, they look pretty awesome too. There are many style options when choosing the perfect pair of pointed-toe boots. However, since I have worn this style boot for many years, I highly recommend leather for their look, comfort and durability.
