Compensation Disclosure Statement

I have created this blog, which was created, written, and edited by me.  For questions about this blog, please email me at [email protected].

I accept various forms of cash advertising, sponsorships, paid insertions, or other forms of compensation.

Any compensation received does not influence the content, topics, or posts made in this blog.

I purchase the products shown on this blog, unless otherwise stated.  Any items marked “PR” were a gift to me, but I only feature them if I like them and wish to promote them.  Products received which are not to my liking will not be shown on this site.

I earn money on this blog through ads, sponsored posts, and affiliate links.   I may use affiliate links in my posts, meaning that I get a small commission when you purchase through my links.  Affiliate links do not affect the price of goods that are purchased.  Sponsored posts are those posts in which a brand or PR firm pays me to write a post about a particular topic.   Any sponsored posts reflect my honest thoughts and opinions, and I will always tell you when I am partnering with a brand.

I only work with brands I support, and I only promote products that I use and appreciate.  Sponsored posts, reviews, and affiliate links help me bring you the latest in style, beauty, fitness, and home products.  There are many expenses associated with running this site, so I appreciate your support.

The content and opinions expressed on this blog are upon my thoughts and feelings.  Any questions you have about a claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service must be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.

STRICTLY NECESSARY COOKIES

“These cookies are essential to enable you to move around the website and use its features, such as accessing secure areas of the website. Without these cookies, services you have asked for, like shopping baskets or e-billing, cannot be provided.

PERFORMANCE COOKIES

“These cookies collect information about how visitors use a website, for instance, which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. These cookies don’t collect information that identifies a visitor. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and, therefore, anonymous. It is only used to improve how a website works. [emphasis mine]

FUNCTIONALITY COOKIES

“These cookies allow the website to remember choices you make (such as your user name, language or the region you are in) and provide enhanced, more personal features. For instance,…  these cookies can be used to remember changes you have made to text size, fonts, and other parts of web pages that you can customize. They may also be used to provide services you have asked for, such as watching a video or commenting on a blog. The information these cookies collect may be anonymized, and they cannot track your browsing activity on other websites.

TARGETING/ADVERTISING COOKIES

“These cookies are used to deliver adverts more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement as well as help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign. They are usually placed by advertising networks with the website operator’s permission. They remember that you have visited a website, and this information is shared with other organizations such as advertisers. Quite often, targeting or advertising cookies will be linked to site functionality provided by the other organization.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to record information about the pages a user has seen, for example, the URL of the page, time of day, device used, etc. The information that we collect anonymized and sent to Google Analytics for analysis.

Google Analytics mainly uses first-party cookies to report on visitor interactions on this website. Users may disable cookies or delete any individual cookies. Learn more

Also, Google Analytics supports an optional browser add-on that – once installed and enabled – disables measurement by Google Analytics for any site a user visits. Note that this add-on only disables Google Analytics measurement.

Google Analytics also collects Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to provide and protect the security of the service and to give website owners a sense of which country, state, or city in the world their users come from (also known as “IP geolocation”).

See this page for Google Analytics security and usage of data.

How long we retain your data

Google Analytics data is retained for twenty-six months or more. Contact forms and comments cookies are held for one year. We will retain your Personal Data for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a more extended retention period is required or allowed by law.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely and allows us to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
