Classic Clothes Style – Design Inspired

Inspiration is all around us, and fashion designers introduce their new creations each season to do exactly that, inspire us! While many times their exaggerated designs shared on the catwalk, don’t make it to the street, what they share in New York, London, and Paris is usually candy to the eyes if you love fashion.

Iconic fashion designers like CHANEL, BURBERRY, RALPH LAUREN usually stay firmly grounded in timeless style, but offer a creative twist each season that is worth our attention.

The White Shirt

So simple yet so essential, the white shirt comes in all shapes and sizes. Some styles are unique and are a staple in our wardrobes that shape the personality of so many outfits we wear.

Outfits for an Elegant Women

1. CHANEL Inspired Outfit with a White Crew Neck T-Shirt

This black jeans, white shirt and red tweed jacket outfit inspired by French designer Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, acknowledges her timeless design.

She once said “I really care about women, and I wanted to dress them in clothes that make them feel at ease, clothes they can wear to drive a car, but that still emphasizes femininity”.

While currently, we frequently dress to feel comfortable and feminine, 100 years ago this was not the case and Chanel’s aspirations to dress women differently became the start of a fashion revolution.

2. BALMAIN Inspired Outfit with White Satin Cami

Inspired by Pierre Balmain, this black blazer with gold button detail paired with a simple white cami, black jeans and tan and black cap toe shoes. As you can see from this look, his designs focus on construction and feminine elegance, and this is clear as we admire the design of the iconic the Balmain blazer.

He emerged with his first show in October 1945. Balmain was in France fashion designer, designing was Yves Saint Laurent, Dior & Balenciaga.

Initially, he missed out on making a name for himself in the Paris market, because he focused on the U.S. market and licensing deals, which clearly didn’t work to his benefit. So, like Picasso, many did not recognize his work with any great significance until after his death.

Eleven years after he died in 1982, Oscar de la Renta stepped in as the chief designer at Balmain and is now appreciated for restoring the Balmain name and image in the fashion world.

2. BURBERRY Inspired Outfit with White Scoop Neck Sweater

Credited with designing the iconic trench coat, Thomas Burberry’s design inspired the black jeans, white shirt outfit in this look style below.

What is especially interesting, and now makes perfect sense, is Burberry invented wool gabardine in 1879. He created the fabric for its water and windproof qualities.

Burberry’s made his trench coat available to the public and to the military in the 1890s. Perfect for field sport athletes and essential for keeping soldiers warm in the trenches during World War I.

4. CHARLES FREDERICK WORTH Inspired White Off the Shoulder Top

Created by fashion designer Charles Frederick Worth in 1855, the off the shoulder design is the most historical style featured in this post.

It took Brigitte Bardot‘s iconic style sense to revive the off the shoulder fashion trend in the 1960s. Scandalous this look became known as the “Bardot.”

Now part of acceptable fashion designs, this elegant white, this off the shoulder blouse is beautiful and timeless when styled with a pair of black skinny jeans and tan and black cap toe flats.

5. RALPH LAUREN Inspired Outfit with White Button-Up Shirt

A timeless classic that always looks fresh and polished, in 1967, Ralph Lauren, an emerging designer named his new line of ties “Polo” to convey his love for a sophisticated, athletic style.

What I like most about Ralph Lauren’s style is that he brings together the rough with the polished. My first exposure to this was when I purchased one of his beautiful blue jean jackets with a faux mink collar. The juxtaposition of fabrics creates amazing interest and sets him apart from other iconic designers.

Inspired by his play on fabrics, I paired a rough-and-tumble olive utility jacket with southwest design details with a very polished, white button-up shirt, black skinny jeans and tan and black cap toe shoes. Keeping the jewelry classic and elegant, I paired this outfit with a matching gold chunky necklace and bracelet.
