Scarf Outfit Ideas with Capsule Wardrobe Essentials

Learning how to wear a scarf opens up so many more amazing outfit ideas for autumn and winter! Have you considered ivory skinny jeans? If not, here’s some outfit inspiration for you! In each of the five outfits, I am showing the same ivory crewneck sweater and skinny jeans. Smart casual and casual, all the outfits share a common thread…they are effortlessly chic. By simply changing out the jacket, scarf, belt and boots, the looks are quite different. Love the versatility of using ivory as the base color for an outfit.

1. “The Chic” – Rectangular Scarf Outfit

Who knew a puffer vest could look so elegant? Pairing it with a brown and ivory snakeskin print rectangular scarf gives this outfit polish. This casual ivory monochrome outfit not only looks amazing but will keep you warm and cosy during the fall and winter months. A perfect outfit for your Thanksgiving Day dinner gathering or for a casual holiday party.

2. “The Retro” – Bandana Scarf Outfit

Je ne sais quoi? This outfit has it! The red and white non-traditional bandana scarf punctuates the look. I tied this scarf with a simple square knot, and called it “the retro,” for obvious reasons. This is probably the most common way to wear a bandana scarf, but there is nothing common about the look of this outfit! The contrast of the red scarf with the navy Signet Blazer, ivory jeans and cognac riding boots looks polished and effortlessly chic.

3. “The Parisian” – Infinity Scarf Outfit

Such an effortlessly chic casual look with a Parisian style scarf and suede cowboy boots! I have styled this leopard print rectangular scarf into an infinity scarf style by tying the ends together with a square knot, then wrapping it twice around my neck – Voila! A great outfit to wear out for a casual event or a country music concert! So timeless and polished with a denim jacket and a simple little brown crossbody bag.

4. “The Looped” – Rectangular Scarf Outfit

Polished and edgy, this casual everyday outfit is perfect for going out to lunch or shopping on a Saturday afternoon. I styled this outfit with a black, red and ivory narrow rectangular scarf and created a simple loop by wrapping the scarf around my neck twice. You could also wear this scarf without looping it. The red crossbody bag punctuates the look. Doc Martens are the unexpected in this outfit ensemble, but that makes this outfit special!

5. “The Elegant” – Large Bandana Scarf Outfit

The power of black and white! Such a simple way to look expensive without blowing the budget! The equestrian large square bandana scarf is double wrapped and tied with a square knot in front. The scarf makes the outfit and looks effortlessly chic. Capsule wardrobe pieces play a big role in pulling this outfit together! The brown leather crossbody purse adds personality to this timeless and polished look.
